About Big Group Hug
Big Group Hug is a Melbourne-based charity that collects, restores, and gifts essential nursery equipment - prams, cots, car seats - to families experiencing crisis. Every item is safety-checked before it reaches a family, ensuring that the most vulnerable children in our community have a safe place to sleep and a safe way to travel.
Behind every pram is a family who needed a hand. Big Group Hug gives them that with dignity, speed, and care.

The Fix It Bench
Micheli's $55,000 gift directly funds Fernando, Big Group Hug's Fix It Coordinator. His role exists at the critical intersection of safety and generosity — no item leaves the warehouse until it has been professionally inspected and restored to meet strict Australian Safety Standards.
What Fernando does
Safety-checks and repairs donated nursery equipment including prams, cots, and car seats before they reach families in need.
Why it matters
By removing bottlenecks in safety testing, Big Group Hug can respond to crisis requests faster, and volunteers are freed to focus on care.
